The Stops along Our Half Day Jeep Tour

Our Half Day Jeep Tour aims at showing you the best of Wadi Rum’s beautiful landscapes without trying to do too much. In total, you will visit six popular attractions of the Wadi Rum desert and get the chance to try sandboaridng:

Nabatean Temple

We start at the Nabatean Temple, a remnant from many millennia ago. It bares testament to the long history of the Wadi Rum desert. The Nabataean lived here before the Bedouins even arrived. They left behind multiple ruins, one of them being the Nabatean temple.

Lawrence’s Spring

Lawrence’s Spring is located not too far from Wadi Rum Village and serves as a drinking station for camels. Its history reach way back though. The spring quenched the camels’ thirst was first discovered by the Nabataean and then forgotten.

Thanks to petroglyphs however, T.E. Lawrence of Arabia was able to rediscover it, effectively renaming it to Lawrence’s Spring. Inspect the Nabataean petroglyphs and hike up the spring – if you dare.

Al-Khazali Canyon

After a short ride through the Red Desert, we will arrive at Al-Khazali Canyon. This canyon showcases the multiple facets of life in Wadi Rum. At the entrance you are greeted by a wild fig tree indicating the favourable conditions of the canyon. Once inside, you will not only enjoy fresh air, but also see rock paintings once drafted by the Nabataeans.

Red Sand Dune

Enjoy a stunning view of the Wadi Rum desert.

While history is good and well, we do not want to drown you in it. So, for the next stop on our tour we will get your blood pumping. The Small Red Dune is a red sand dune that offers itself to a short scramble up with a view.

From the top of the Small Red Dune, you can get a panoramic view of the Wadi Rum Desert and its focal point Jebel Al-Rum. Descend by running down the sand for a healthy dose of adrenaline.

Small Rock Bridge

Wadi Rum is full of natural wonders. A collection of natural stone arches is one of those. The was created by thousands of years of erosion, creating a unique motif in the desert. Climb up the bridge and get a snapshot for your friends at home.

At the foot of the Small Rock Bridge, we will take a break to enjoy some delicious Bedouin sweet tea, converse and browse the local souvenir shop, where you can find such treasures as camel milk soap.

Abu Khashaba Canyon

Jeep Tour Wadi Rum
Hop back in the jeep. There is one more stops on your desert adventure!

For our last stop, we will leave behind the Red Desert and venture into the White Desert of Wadi Rum to pay a visit Abu Khashaba Canyon. This canyon is wider and longer than the first one, offering itself to a lengthy walk with unique view of the stone formations around.

At the end of the canyon, a sand dune has formed that doubles as a sandboarding hotspot nowadays. Wanna give it a shot? Your guide will provide you with a board to race down the sandy slopes of Abu Khashaba Canyon.

Umm Froth Bridge, one of the largest natural stone arches of Wadi Rum, waits at the end of your Half Day Tour. Get the last your energy out by attempting a scramble to the top, before we end the tour.
